Kirsten Kearney has many years experience producing short films for ESC. She is skilled in working with clients to problem solve and create an end product which fulfils their aims.
She has an extensive background in the arts sector having worked in arts development and arts marketing in Northern Ireland across various different arts organisations. She also worked as an Arts Development Officer for Belfast City Council. She is a former lecturer in Cultural Studies at Glasgow University. She speaks fluent German and taught English Studies in Germany. Kirsten has an MPhil in Modern Poetry, with a thesis on Seamus Heaney, and a PhD in German and Scottish national and cultural identity.
She is also a published poet who was selected to represent Northern Ireland in the European Poetry in Motion project in Washington. She was writer in residence in Anacostia, one of the most disadvantaged areas of DC. Her ambition is to create real and lasting transformation in the lives of people suffering from marginalisation.
In December 2012 she did a TED talk at Tedx Belfast Women – The Space Between, speaking as a woman creating transformation within local communities.
